Luxury outdoor kitchens & living · Texas Hill Country Rooms without ceilings.
The Texas Hill Country gives you most of the year outdoors. We design kitchens, pergolas, fireplaces and terraces around how you really host, cook and relax.
Outdoor kitchens
A good outdoor kitchen is planned around the cook. That means enough counter space, the grill set where smoke will not drift across your guests, and bar seating so the person cooking stays in the conversation. It also means shade from the west sun.
Ours range from a lower kitchen set into the slope to a sunken kitchen with dual grills and a pergola wine bar beside a copper runnel.
Pergolas, cabanas and shade
In Texas, shade is what makes a terrace usable in July. A pergola or cabana also gives an open site a sense of enclosure, and something for lighting, fans and a fireplace to attach to. We have built pergolas with fireplaces, pergolas with swim-up bars and dry-side seating, and cabanas with kitchens, including one with a rainwater tank hidden beneath it.
Fire features
Fire extends the season and gives a terrace a place to gather. Our work includes wood-burning and gas fire pits, stone fireplaces with firewood storage, fire pots and bowls, helix torches and linear fire features that run the length of a terrace.
Terraces, greens and courts
The best outdoor living spaces are a series of places: somewhere to eat, somewhere to sit by the fire, somewhere for the grandkids to run. Seat walls give a terrace extra seating without extra furniture. Some of our clients add a natural putting green or a lighted sport court. Connecting these spaces on a slope takes careful hardscape, and every one of them needs lighting to work at night.

Common questions
01 Can you build an outdoor kitchen without a pool?
Yes. Outdoor kitchens, pergolas and terraces can be projects on their own, or an addition to an existing pool.
02 What should I think about first when planning an outdoor kitchen?
Start with how you cook and host, then look at the site: the west sun, the prevailing breeze, the views and the distance from the indoor kitchen. Placement matters more than the appliance list.
03 Do you build pergolas and cabanas?
Yes. Pergolas and cabanas appear throughout our portfolio, often with fireplaces, kitchens or swim-up bars built in.
